Reiki on Horses
Reiki is a Japanese word for universal life-force energy.
It is a healing technique performed by laying of hands to
re-balance the body’s energy, reduce pain, and produce well-being.
Reiki is a safe, non-intrusive healing energy which channels itself
to where it is needed to help open energy blockages and stimulate
the body’s natural healing ability.
Please note: Reiki complements veterinarian care and does not replace it.
Where does the session take place?
- At cross tie.
- In the horse’s
stall.
- In the paddock.
How is a session conducted?
- A session, especially the first one, might begin with some
grooming and cleaning of the horse’s face.
- Horse is asked
telepathically whether s/he would like to accept the Reiki energy
healing.
- Once accepted Reiki healing is commenced.
- A session is a series of hand positions applied either with
light-touch directly on or close to the horse’s body.
- In
"distant healing" the horse is at a visible range in a fenced field.
Session preparation
- Make sure the horse is fed and is
cleaned up prior to the session.
Other considerations:
- Depending on the situation I might need someone familiar to the
horse to stay with us. It could be only at the beginning of the
session or through the entire session.
- After a session, if
possible, do let your horse rest at least for the rest of the day or
preferably 24 hours.
Number of sessions
I believe horses benefit tremendously from Reiki
healing however I respect your decision about when to request the
next session for your horse.
Based on past experiences sessions could be:
- On request.
- Regular weekly basis.
- 3-6 concentrated sessions within 1-3 weeks.
- 14 concentrated
sessions within 7 weeks, with 2 consecutive days per week.
